The Russellville Police Department officially began it's chaplain program in February of 2004. Sgt. Alan Bradley, Lt. Wayne Damon, and Sgt. John Serrette (All of which, are sworn police officers with the department) implemented the program due to a overwelming need and cause to share their faith and serve their fellow police officers and the community.

The chaplains objectives are:

A.   Provide non-denominational spiritual support to Russellville Police Department personnel and victims of crimes/persons in need of services, in the community.

B.   Maintain a pool of trained police chaplains to perform special services within the department as designated by the Chief of Police.

C.   Enhance the department's service to the community.


Our chaplains may be requested to assist in the following types of incidents and special events, with approval of supervisory personnel:

  1.    Delivery of death notices.
  2.    Attempted or actual suicides.
  3.    Hostage situations.
  4.    Lost child.
  5.    Sexual Assaults.
  6.    Child abuse.
  7.    Major family disturbances.
  8.    Major traffic accidents involving serious physical injury or death.
  9.    Line of duty deaths.
10.    Accidental situations involving serious physical injury or death as a result of fire, drowning, industrial, etc.
11.    Hospital calls and home visits to Russellville Police Department personnel.
12.    Counseling of Russellville Police Department personnel with personal or specific problems.
13.    Critical incident stress debriefings.
14.    Attend and participate in funerals of active and retired Russellville Police Department personnel.
15.    Conduct memorial services.
16.    Attend department functions, ceremonies, etc.
17.    Enhance relations with the community.
